We aggressively pursue more than the cost of repairs and rentals.  We go after reimbursements for loss of use, diminished value and even personal property damage.  In 2008, we recovered almost $50 million.

We recover almost 95% of the claim dollars we target, in an average of less than 60 days, sometimes even before repairs are finished.  Our ratio of total recoveries to total losses paid was nearly 40% last year — twice as good as the auto insurance industry’s. 

Our subrogation team is staffed with professional collectors, whose efforts are backed up by our licensed in-house auto appraisers. Our digital information technology pulls images and files directly from our claim records, and automatically generates the documents needed to begin the recovery process as soon as possible.

We start the subrogation process the day a claim comes in. Every claim is checked for potential recovery. Three out of every 10 claims gets referred to our subrogation team, usually within 24 hours of the first notice of loss.
